10/21 Monday Night Wine Dinner: Lingua Franca Wines

October 21, 2019 05:30 PM

Before there was Bobby Stuckey, Daniel Johnnes, Raj Parr, or any sommelier of consequence in America, there was Larry Stone. We all have Larry to thank for setting the bar so high and showing the restaurant world that the role of sommelier didn’t need to be a stuffy, rude, old man, but rather a beacon of warmth, wisdom and hospitality.  His mark on our industry has been tremendous, and now, he is making wine in Oregon with none other than legendary Meursault producer Dominique Lafon.

Lingua Franca is their project in the Willamette Valley. They source from several vineyards, including their own estate vineyard, making incredible, mineral driven, balanced Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The quality of the wines in their first handful of vintages is profound. We will pour examples of both his chardonnay and Pinot Noirs - all stunning. We could not be more humbled to welcome back Larry Stone to Frasca for another Lingua Franca Monday night.
