Join us for an intimate evening with one of the wine world’s most respected visionaries, Etienne de Montille, as he uncorks the stories and vintages behind two extraordinary estates: Domaine de Montille in Burgundy and Racines in California’s Sta. Rita Hills.
For generations, the de Montille family has been rooted in Volnay, producing expressive, age-worthy Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from some of the most revered terroirs in the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. Known for whole cluster fermentations, long macerations, restrained oak, and a commitment to finesse over flash, Domaine de Montille is a benchmark of elegance in Burgundy.
But Etienne is more than a steward of tradition. After decades guiding his family estate to global acclaim, introducing organic and biodynamic farming, expanding into Côte de Nuits, and revitalizing Château de Puligny-Montrachet, Etienne set his sights west.
In 2017, alongside winemaker Brian Sieve, he co-founded Racines in the Sta. Rita Hills, a rugged, wind-swept stretch of California coast with a Burgundian soul. There, they craft Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and sparkling wines with the same precision and restraint that define their Burgundian roots.
This Tastemaker Dinner offers a rare opportunity to explore the dialogue between old world and new - between the limestone slopes of Vosne-Romanée and the ocean-cooled vineyards of Santa Barbara County - all in the company of the man behind them.
